Donate a Deer Program List

DONATE A DEER PROGRAM (AKA “WHO WANTS ONE”):

Concept: As suggested by the MCSSA Deer Committee – Some folks that are more social club members and /or may not be able to get out for whatever reason during the season may want venison. Since there are members that although they may have filled their freezer with venison from harvest during the season, but still like to get out and hunt, a suggestion was made to provide a list of members that would like to receive a deer that was harvested by another member.

This list of folks and their contact info who want a deer that was harvested by another member will be posted on the MCR website in the “members only” portal. NOTE: this does not mean the person receiving the deer gets butchered meat – basically that person gets a field dressed deer that the person receiving it can bring to the butcher. It would be between the hunter and the person receiving the deer on how the deer is picked up.  Please note that so far no one has signed up for this program -when someone sings up this page will be updated accordingly.

NOTE: As per NJ regulations: In New Jersey, you can give away deer after you have legally harvested and registered it, provided you follow the provide the following to the person receiving it.

1) Legal Harvest and Registration Required: You must have legally harvested and registered (checked the deer into NJDFW) the deer in your name.
2) Labeling the Deer (can be written on a piece of paper and given to the individual receiving the deer when you drop off the deer) with the following information:
• Your name and address (the person who registered/checked in the deer).
• The deer’s possession tag number.
• The name and address of the recipient.

Any deer that is given through this program to a member will be logged by MCR (therefore the person donating the deer must let MCR know that the deer was donated and to who) so we can see how many times the program is used.
